David J. McGrath has directed high school bands the past twenty-three years in both the states of Michigan and Georgia. He holds a BA from DePauw University and an MA from Eastern Michigan University. More >
Associate Director of Bands
Michael Huebner is Associate Director of Bands at Kennesaw Mountain High School. His duties include assisting with three concert ensembles, marching band, jazz band, and musical pit orchestra. He graduated from Miami University magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. Michael is currently a member of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps Visual Staff for the 2010 season. Assistant Director of Bands/Woodwind Specialist
Mr. Birnbaum is entering his fourth year as a music educator and looks forward to bringing his experiences to the Kennesaw Mountain students and community. Prior to his appointment at Kennesaw Mountain High School, Mr. Birnbaum taught as assistant director at Shiloh High School in Gwinnett County, where he assisted in the growth of the program and directed the concert and symphonic bands towards achieving ’superior’ ratings. Max Mullinix is currently in his 8th year on staff with the Kennesaw Mountain High School Band program. At Kennesaw Mountain, he serves as the Director of Percussion, and also works with the middle school feeder programs in the area. More >
Adam Sage is the color guard designer and caption supervisor and designer for the Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps and the CrownGUARD. He currently works with Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, Georgia (2004 Winter Guard International Scholastic A World Champions and 2005 Winter Guard International Scholastic Open World Champions) and has been involved with other high school programs. Michael Klesch is an arranger and clinician for numerous marching bands across the country. In addition to arranging for Kennesaw Mountain High School he is the staff arranger for both the University of Alabama Million Dollar Band and the University of Massachusetts Minuteman Marching Band. He currently serves as the brass arranger and musical director for the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps.
Visual Consultant/Drill Writer
Currently the Visual Coordinator/drill designer for 7 time DCI World Champion The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, Michael Gaines also designs for some of the top high school marching bands and winter color guards in the country. His designs have been featured by several high school Bands of America National Champions, as well as 3 time WGI World Champion, Pride of Cincinnati.
